Vacationing and Car Shopping
It is amazing what taking time off from work can do to a person. For one who is used to being at work too much, this is a new experience. As in the past, I was blessed by having one day off a week. Now taking 4 days off in a row is certainly a new feeling.
My vacation started off being boring, but then I got involved in car shopping for my mom. This turned out to be time-consuming and somewhat tiring. But I tell myself, this just comes around once every ten years or so, so it will be over before we know it.
The tiring part is traveling to bigger cities hunting for the best deals. We narrowed it down to a few choices of what type of car would be suitable for Mom's needs and preferences. But what has been challenging is finding a real good deal. It seems dealers mark up the prices, so we have to talk down the prices, since mom is on a limited budget.
It seems cars are more expensive than the last time we looked for a car for mom. Ten years ago, we found plenty of good cars for a little less than ten grand. Now, you could not find any real good bargain for that same amount. It is the sign of the times.
While I am glad that I can be of help, the vacation time is coming to a close quite fast. Hopefully, by the end of my time off, Mom will have a shiny new car. Then I can truly say my time spent would be worth it.
