Doctor Visit
Well, here I am going to the Doctor. I have been dragging myself because of a bad cold. Now, I have been sick before, many times and it seems we get worse as we get older. I used to be one who never get sick, and certainly never goes to see the doctor. Well, I guess those times are over.
Today, (this morning) I got the privilege of using my Insurance. I do believe this is the first time I used the insurance in the 10 years I have had it. I am thankful for it. It had a copay, which is lot cheaper than paying the full price.
Since I am new in the patient role, I then had to answer questions that I am not used to answering. "Umm, yeah, I think so". Since I had, I believe a full blown cold, the nurse asked me if I was coughing up mucus and I said, yes, this morning I was, she then ask what color was it? "Ummn. I do not know, I didn't look at it". (I'm making an mental note to next time to look at stuff I coughing up). She said that's OK.. After a round of questions, then the regular tests were made, like blood pressure, which she said it was a little high. I had to wait for the Doctor.
Well, of course Doctor came in and I went thru another round of questions including, what color was it? 'Umm, I didn't look at it". She examined my tonsils and said it was bad.
Well, I then had to go to the Pharmacy, and now taking two different medicines. So I guess I am on the road to recovery. I sympthathize with those who go often to the Doctor. I am usually the one accompanying my wife to the Doctor but now I can start to be an experienced patient.
I hope not!
