A large crowd gathered on the south lawn of the courthouse Wednesday night to enjoy good food, good music and good company. Before the singing started people ambled around the Square, some choosing to enjoy Purina's Amazing Animal Dog Show on the north lawn while others stayed close to the source of the wonderful smoky aroma put off by the Bushwhacker Committee cooks who provided grilled hamburgers and hotdogs to the appreciative audience. ...

The Nevada City Council heard a report Tuesday night from Vernon County Presiding Commissioner Charles Johnson outlining the proposed new county jail and E-911 system.
