Two men arraigned on charges stemming from weekend search

Arraignments were held Monday and two men, Bob T. Beisly II, 50, Deerfield and Joe K. McIntire, 53, Nevada, are in jail after Sheriff Ron Peckman, officers from his department, the Nevada Police Department and members of the Southwest Missouri Drug Task Force served warrants Friday at two locations in Nevada and one in Deerfield. Laura Lusk had a good day Thursday. She was out doing some chores as bingo chairperson for the Eagles Auxiliary picking up some supplies and dropping them off at the Eagles. While waiting for her daughter, Lusk won $25,000, playing a game of Keno. "I picked up some things for bingo at Wal-Mart and took them to the Eagles," Lusk said. "I was waiting for my daughter and I chose to play 10 numbers and a bullseye so I paid $2 for my ticket."...

Customers flocked to area gas stations yesterday, after the news broke that Hurricane Katrina had struck the major Gulf ports in Biloxi, Miss., and New Orleans. Analysts and citizens alike were guessing that the natural disaster would mean a dramatic hike in the price of fuel at the pump. Prices at most stations throughout Nevada rose to $2.57 per gallon for regular unleaded yesterday. The rate at many of the same stations, including the one above, hit $2.69 this morning...

"How Likable Are You?" the test asked. It was like an SAT, only with more at stake. I consider myself likable. And I should know. I spend 24 hours a day with myself, and I've come to realize that, good times or bad, I'll always be there for myself. The test asked you to rate yourself from zero to 10 in different behavior categories, with zero being "never" and 10 being "daily."...
