Each year Nevada Lions Club collects a large number of used glasses. These glasses are collected to be sent to third world countries where people cannot afford glasses and to give them an opportunity to see. I asked my cousin Bob Hawk, Iola, Kan., to give a report of his experience in being involved in taking glasses to another country. ...

Ida P. Heathman, 70, of Nevada, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born April 9, 1938, in Fort Scott, to George Sylvester Hogan and F. Pauline Lowry. She married Bert Allen Heathman on Sept. 24, 1955, in the Rinehart Christian Church. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1988...
