Ballot initiative would mandate alternative energy sources in Missouri

An initiative petition on the ballot for Nov. 4 would force investor-owned utilities to generate or purchase 15 percent of the total energy they sell from alternative energy sources with at least 2 percent of the total alternative energy to be solar by 2021. Correction: MoDOT hosts public meetings to discuss converting U.S. 71 to I-49

Nevada's Meeting will be held Oct. 15 The Missouri Department of Transportation Southwest District will host three public meetings this month to discuss plans to convert U.S 71 Highway into Interstate 49. According to MoDOT, U.S. 71 between Interstate 44 to south of Pineville already meets interstate standards, but the portion between I-44 and Kansas City will have to be improved in order to receive an interstate designation...
