The minimum wage in the state of Missouri will soon rise once again. According to the Misosuri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, effective Jan. 1, 2009, many Missourians will be getting a pay increase. New information on traffic crash first reported in Thursday's edition revealed that two people were injured in the one-vehicle incident Wednesday evening along the northbound lanes of U.S. 71, south of the Highland exit in Nevada. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ollivia Reddick, 62, of Fayetteville, Ark., was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe pulling a trailer, heading northbound on 71, losing control of the trailer, which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn, coming to rest on its side. ...

A group of citizens attended the October meeting of the Nevada R-5 School District to voice their concern over a proposed policy that would formalize the district's position on outside groups distributing information to students. The Nevada Middle School seventh grade football team traveled to Joplin Memorial Tuesday night. The B team ended the night in a tie after a touchdown run by Steffan Ogle and a two-point conversion by Reed Hardin gave the Tigers the 8-8 at the end of the game.
