Gordon was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Nevada, Mo., the son of Gordon Harold Chrisenberry Sr. and Hazel Gossett Chrisenberry. He attended school in Nevada, graduating from high school in 1943. He entered the United States Army in June of 1944, serving about 3 years in Italy. After returning home, Gordon joined the Missouri National Gaurd, retiring in 1984 as a 1st Lieutenant...

Conservation Department sponsors fly-fishing workshop

The Missouri Department of Conservation is sponsoring a fly-fishing and fly-tying workshop from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6. Recent fatal crashes emphasize need for seatbelts

According to preliminary reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 10 people died in Missouri traffic crashes, Nov. 6-9. Nine of the victims were not wearing a seatbelt and in one instance, seatbelt use at the time of the crash remained undetermined. NEVC honors veterans

The floors were shining and the walls were decorated in patriotic themes as the students and faculty welcomed veterans in a program in their honor Tuesday at the North-east Vernon County school campus in Schell City.
