Feb. 5 There was a report of an electrical fire at Speed Lube. On arrival, nothing was showing from the structure. Once inside, the interior crews found that an interior light had shorted out causing smoke inside the structure alerting the occupants. No damage to the structure or contents was found...

Feb. 6 An accident occurred at 12:35 p.m., at West and Walnut, involving a car driven by Tyler R. Claypool, of Nevada, and a pickup driven by Ashley A. Smith, of Nevada. No injuries were reported. Gary Vickers of Harwood, Mo., began Basic Boot Camp at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1968. After eight weeks, he was sent to Ft. Polk, La., for nine weeks of infantry training. "By the time we were out of Ft.
