Veda Edmonds, 92, Horton, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born on Jan. 29, 1917, in Garden City, Mo., to William Underwood and Nellie Gaston Underwood. She married Jim Edmonds on Jan. 18, 1936, in Butler, Mo., and they were married for 73 years...

Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) announced that the Missouri Department of Transportation secured a $353,600 grant from the Federal Railroad Administration. With the grant, the Missouri Department of Transportation will reimburse the Missouri and Northern Arkansas Railroad for losses incurred from flood damage in Vernon, Jasper, Stone, and Taney counties in 2008.
