A motor vehicle accident occurred on U.S. 71 Highway south of Route D Thursday afternoon involving a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Jean Wright, 61, Fort Smith, Ark. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Wright was driving northbound at about 2:15 p.m., when her vehicle ran off the west side of the road and crossed the median and southbound lanes, coming to rest on Route D. Wright was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center with minor injuries...

Hay growers are reminded that entries for the Ozark Empire Fair Hay Show are being accepted until July 10. Entries may be small rectangular bales or big round bales of hay harvested in 2009. The season has not been favorable for harvesting top quality hay, according to Eldon Cole, University of Missouri Extension livestock specialist...
