Seven years ago, wrestling coach Chip Balk formed the Tiger Pit Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling club to introduce the Olympic wrestling forms to Nevada High School wrestlers. The Nevada Middle School seventh grade football A and B teams hosted Joplin South Tuesday night with mixed results. In the B game, Ryan Ferris scored two touchdowns for the Tigers while Tristan Smith completed a two-point conversion, but that wasn't quite enough as Joplin took a 20-14 victory. Brandon Barker led the Tigers' A team with two touchdowns of his own as Nevada took an eight-point victory by a final score of 14-6...

A preliminary hearing for Charles Stewart, Schell City, was once again postponed by agreement between the Vernon County Prosecutor Lynn Ewing III and the attorney for Stewart, Eric Landoll.
