Due to the amount of rain the area received, the condition of the track and the forecast, Nevada's All-Comers track meet has been postponed until Wednesday, May 9. The meet will begin at the same time on that day. Registration will begin at 4 p.m.

The freshman baseball game at Nevada today vs Seneca has been postponed due to wet field conditions. No make-up date has been announced.

The Nevada High School baseball team will finish its suspended game with Seneca on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Seneca. The game was stopped going into the top of the fifth inning with Nevada up 3-2 on April 13 due to the weather. As of Monday night, the JV team will play after the varsity finishes up its couple of innings...

Cottey College campus chapel was buzzing at 7 p.m. Thursday evening in preparation for a speech to be delivered by Willie Jolley, international celebrity speaker, singer and author. Jolley was welcomed with a standing ovation and started off his time by talking about the importance of service. "Service is the rent we pay for our space on this Earth," he said. "Don't think of it as work, but as service."...

The Nevada Police Department received a report of an assault that occurred near the intersection of Austin Boulevard and Clay Street in Nevada at about 11 a.m. on April 26. A 17-year-old female Nevada resident was approached by a passing car with one man in it who offered the girl a ride, which she refused. The man reportedly grabbed the victim's arm, but she broke free and ran home...

Nevada Daily Mail MONETT--The Nevada High School boys tennis team competed at the Monett Invite on Friday. Two singles players placed at the event for NHS. Both Andrew Arneson (number-one singles) and Colton Short (number-two singles) received byes in the first round of their flights...
