Fictional characters to help with health education

Vern and Laverne will help spread the word of wellness in Vernon County as part of the Healthy Nevada initiative. The fictional characters were developed with the help of NRTC's DECA group and input from the community. Douglas S. Lukenbill, 50, of Nevada died as the result of a one-vehicle accident that occurred about 3:50 Monday afternoon according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
