ROGERS, Ark. -- The Nevada Tigers baseball team faced what could have been its toughest test of the season Saturday, taking on the War Eagles of Heritage High School, and passed the test with flying colors. Not only did the Tigers have little trouble getting the offense going, but the battery of pitcher Grant Wolfe and catcher Brett Mitchell controlled the contest and helped the Tigers to a 16-6 win. ...

Thanks to a day that was characterized by widespread rainfall and the threat of severe weather, several sporting events involving teams from Nevada High School were called off Monday. First on the list was the Class 3, Sectional 4 golf tournament, which was scheduled to be played at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex, in Smithville, Mo. ...

The Nevada Lady Tigers volleyball coaches and players are scheduled to host a two-day youth skills clinic at the Osage Prairie YMCA, from 4-6 p.m., May 21 and 22. All area girls entering fourth through eighth grades in the 2014-15 school year who are interested in playing volleyball are invited to attend the clinic, to learn essential volleyball skills...

One of the seniors on this spring's Nevada Tigers varsity baseball team has announced his plans to continue his playing career at the college level. Nevada High School athletic director John McNeley announced via email Monday that Lane Ketterman is scheduled to sign a letter of intent to attend Coffeyville (Kan.)Community College. Ketterman's signing ceremony is set for 2:45 p.m. Thursday, in the Library/Media Center at Nevada High School...
