Rose Marlene Greer, 79, of Milo, Mo., passed from this life Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada. She was born Sept. 13, 1935, the daughter of Vaughn Eldred and Lyda Mildred (Baker) Attebery, in Butler. By Diana Goovaerts New Jersey Herald Newton businessman Jeffrey Muller expressed overwhelming relief and cried tears of joy after a jury returned a verdict of guilty on all counts in the kidnapping trial of Douglas Stangeland. Stangeland, the 51-year-old Nevada man who kidnapped Muller from the parking lot of his pet supply shop in January 2010, was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, first degree kidnapping, robbery, attempted extortion and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, among others charges.. ...

Nevada Daily Mail The Nevada City Council voted 5-0 to adopt Resolution No. 1424 to authorize the city to pay one-third of the cost of a referendum election to establish a one-half cent sales tax under Section 190.335 RSMo. The fifth-seeded Nevada Tigers fell to top-seeded Monett 8-2 at Tuesday's Class 4 District 12 baseball tournament in Seneca, ending their season. With the loss, Nevada finishes the season 9-18 overall, and 5-7 in the West Central Conference.
