Dear Editor: A good friend, Danny Sewell, passed away Saturday, April 15. To say he will be missed is an understatement! I have only met a couple of guys that loved to hunt and fish as much as Danny did and he was one of them. For 10 days every November, the “Rusty Zipper Club,” consisting of myself, Jack Wolf, Steve Bryant and Danny Sewell, would convene early each morning for coffee before hunting, to tell where we were hunting that day and hunting, fishing and other “stories.”...

Danny Thomas Sewell, 69, passed away on Saturday, April 15, at his home in Roscoe, Mo., following a battle with pancreatic cancer since December 2016. He was born on June 17, 1947, in Nevada, to Arthur Lee and Ethel Pauline (Flagor) Sewell. He married Regina Mae McDermott on Sept. 5, 1969, in Nevada and she survives of the home...

Mary Lee (Endicott) Heathman, 86, passed from this life on Monday, April 17, at her home in Nevada. She was born on Dec. 12, 1930, in Arcadia, Kan., to James and Iris (Wilson) Endicott. She married William (Bill) Heathman in 2006. Mary worked as a housekeeper at the State Hospital in Nevada and volunteered at second-hand stores. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed living the country life, the strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and the milk cows...

The Nevada Tiger golf team slotted into a runner-up finish at Monday’s 19th annual Sonic Invitational hosted by Carthage High School.
