Cottey sweeps Sterling College, concludes season 22-2 overall

The Cottey Comet softball team wrapped a terrific inaugural season in the NAIA with a double-dip sweep of Sterling (Kan.) College on Thursday. Cottey (22-2) took the opener, 2-0, and then rolled to a 15-5 victory in the nightcap. Cottey ace Kirsten Wallace spun a seven-inning complete-game shutout in the opener, yielding just three hits, while fanning three.
