The Vernon County Ambulance District (VCAD) Board of Directors met in regular session early Thursday evening for their monthly meeting. At the top of the meeting, a donation of water rescue equipment from VCAD was presented to Vernon County Rescue. The VCAD Board had received a letter at the March meeting from Emergency Management Director Derik White on behalf of the Swift water rescue team of Vernon County requesting VCAD to donate their old water rescue gear to them. ...

Motorists encouraged to drive safely during transportation of large home

Starting today, April 21, at 9 a.m., house moving crews will transport a large home from the 1400 Block of North Ash and McClain streets to the 1200 Block of North Main Street. City officials noted that utility companies, State Highway Patrol, MoDot, and City Police will assist in the house transport by lifting and disconnecting power and communication lines, cutting tree limbs, if needed, and provide traffic control along the route...

Masonic and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 22, at the Park Lawn Chapel, Hillcrest Road at 83rd Street, Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial with military honors will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
