Cottey Comets signs two basketball players from Casper College
The Cottey College Comets basketball team announced two new signees for the 2003-04 season. Nati Lenchner and Sinem Tirkes have transferred from Casper College in Casper, Wyoming. The Casper College Lady T-Birds were 23-10 overall in the 2002-03 season, and ranked in the top 20 in the country in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Division I. Lenchner, a 5'9" guard from Azor, Israel, averaged 10 minutes of playing time in the 17 games in which she appeared as a freshman, shooting 31 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the three-point arch. Tirkes, a 5'10" forward from Istanbul, Turkey, averaged seven minutes of playing time in 19 games as a freshman. Brenda Rose, the Comets head coach, expects the size and shooting ability of Lenchner and Tirkes, both of whom can play the shooting guard and small forward positions, to be tremendous assets.
