Hume reaches final with win over Sheldon

SHELDON, Mo. -- Hume's boys never trailed in a 54-29 drubbing of host Sheldon at the Vernon County Conference Tournament on Thursday.

The Hornets improved to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the tournament, and advanced to the championship game against undefeated Bronaugh on Saturday at 9 p.m.

Junior Clayton Brooks led the Hornet attack with 19 points, while Jeffrey Irwin added 10. James Salters chipped in with eight; James Brooks and David Burns added six apiece.

Andrew Leavell was the top scorer for the Panthers with 16. Cole Reed had seven.
