Frances Marie Reedy
Frances Marie Reedy, 83, Nevada, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born March 20, 1920, in Nevada, Mo., to Alfred Burris and Ada Griggs Burris. She married Thomas R. Reedy on April 19, 1941, and he survives of Nevada, Mo.
Mrs. Reedy grew up in Nevada and attended the Oak Grove School. She worked at the Mitchell Hotel Restaurant for five years in the 1960s and later worked for 10 years at Nevada City Hospital until her retirement in 1967. She also spent many summers working at Camp Galilee in El Dorado Springs, Mo. She was a member of the Walker Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to her husband Thomas R. Reedy, include two sons, Thomas R. Reedy, Jr., Kidder, Mo., and Jerry Lee Reedy, Moundville, Mo.; one daughter, Martha Waltrip, Nevada, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Oliver Burris and Leo Burris; and one sister, Opal Sauders.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Ferry Funeral home in Nevada, Mo., with John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Walker, Mo. Friends may call from now until the hour of service and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday at the funeral home.
