Beverly J. Reed, 69, died Jan. 3, 2004. Beverly was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Bronaugh, Mo. Beverly is survived by her son, Monty Bales, Baltimore, Md.; sisters, Joan McFarland, and Gracelyn Hinds, of Nixa, Mo., Phyllis Cherry, of Kansas City, Mo., Mary Hewitt, of Topeka, Kan., Gladys Branna, of Bronaugh, Mo.; and brother, Robert Holland, of Branson, Mo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Guy and son Martin.
Beverly was a graduate of Bronaugh High School, Bronaugh, Mo., and attended the University of Arizona and Pima College, Tucson, Ariz. Beverly was a retired bank manager, previous member of Finance Committee for Tucson United Way, Board of Directors for Desert Southwest Chapter of National Multiple Sclerosis. Beverly was past president of Tucson Chapter of American Institute of Banking; Tucson BPW, Financial Women International, and the Tucson East Elks Auxiliary No. 2532. Beverly was an active member of Tucson East Elks Lodge No. 2532 and served as Lodge Secretary for four years as well as serving on many committees. Beverly loved sports, and was a great supporter of the University of Arizona basketball and football teams, as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals. Beverly loved to travel and had visited several countries, as well as touring the United States. Beverly will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Memorial services were held on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m., at the Tucson East Elks Lodge No. 2532, Tucson, Ariz.
