Shirley J. Pilcher

Shirley J. Pilcher, 67, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 4, 1936, in Iowa to Francis J. and Ella Shipp. She married Dan B. Pilcher on Sept. 9, 1954, in Nevada, Mo., and he survives of the home.

Mrs. Pilcher came to Vernon County with her family at a young age where she has lived all ever since. She was a homemaker.

Survivors in addition to her husband Dan include one son, Terry G. Pilcher and his wife Juanita, Nevada; one daughter, Melody Merchant and her husband Rick, Nevada; one granddaughter, Jennifer Clyman and her husband Jeremy, Grain Valley, Mo.; one grandson, Brian Pilcher and his wife Kari, Nevada; and three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 10, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
