Mabel Lydia Wiggans
Mabel Lydia Wiggans, 83, resident of 11 North Barbee, Fort Scott, Kan., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Fort Scott Manor. She was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Fort Scott the daughter of Thomas M. Endicott and Minnie Idella Frisk Endicott. She married Ralph E. Wiggans on June 15, 1940, in Nevada, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1985. Mabels was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include three sons, William "Tommy" Wiggans, Fort Scott, Kan., Lyle Wiggans, Kansas City, Mo., and Donnie Wiggans, Nevada, Mo.; three daughters, Polly Watkins, Wentworth, Mo., Loretta Malone, Arma, Kan., and Carolyn Arbogast, Pittsburg, Kan. Also surviving is a brother, Donald Endicott, Arcadia, Kan., and a sister, Bess Caldwell, Broken Arrow, Okla.; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Endicott; and three sisters, Beulah Mayberry, Lucille Dawson and Donna McReynolds.
The Rev. Rod Hillhouse will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Wednesday, in the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Large Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
