June Marie Glisson
June Marie Glisson, 80, Caldwell, Kan., died on Feb. 5, 2004, at the Caldwell Hospital. She was born on Oct. 5, 1923, in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Ray and Pearle Koehler Polk. She grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School. June completed two years at a business college in Kansas City. In 1942 she marred James E. Williams in Nevada before he left for the U.S. Army, he preceded her in death in 1965. On Oct. 21, 1967, June married Herman Glisson in Clayton, N.M. In December 1967, they moved to Caldwell, Kan. June served on the city park board and as president of the Sorosis Club. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
June was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Jim Williams. She is survived by her husband, Herman, of the home; her son, Terry Williams, Wheaton, Ill.; a step-daughter, Marsha Harms, Grants Pass, Ore.; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with First United Methodist Church of Caldwell and Sumner Co. District No. 1 Hospital in Caldwell.
