Car lot fire claims three vehicles

Three vehicles -- a car, a pickup, and a van, on the lot of Bill's Used Cars. located in the 1300 block of Osage, caught fire Wednesday at approximately 11 a.m. Owner Bill Hayes said he didn't know the cause of the fire. "Some kid came in off the street and asked me if I knew the truck was on fire. I looked out and the whole thing was engulfed." Firefighters extinguished the flames quickly, but kept onlookers several feet away for safety's sake, since all three vehicles were believed to have substantial amounts of gasoline in the tanks that might have ignited, but never did.
