James E. West,
James E. West, 68, Nevada, Mo., died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo., following a sudden illness. He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Foster, Mo., to Orbie Albert West and Vera Elizabeth Mager West. He married Francis E. Williams Lile on Aug. 14, 1982, in Liberal, Kan., and she survives of the home.
Jim grew up in the Butler area. He graduated from Hume High School in 1954. He was self-employed in operating a sawmill and manufacturing oak furniture all of his working life. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Frances, include three sons, Larry West, Amoret, Mo., Terry West, Butler, Mo., and Ryan West, Nevada, Mo.; his mother, Vera E. West, Butler, Mo.; three step-children, Crickett Clark, Rich Hill, Mo., Carmell Politte, Ozark, Mo., and Grady Lile, Ozark, Mo.; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; five brothers, Kenneth West, Donald West and Lonnie West, all of Butler, Mo., Raymond West, El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Eugene West, Claremore, Okla. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Michael West.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Ferry Funeral Home with George Brown officiating.
