Alma Elizabeth Beltram
Alma Elizabeth Beltram, 80, of Calvary Crossing Apartments, in Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, March 15, 2004, at her home. Alma was born on Sept. 25, 1923, in rural Bourbon County, the daughter of Will Herbert Gladstone Bishop and Margaurite Russell Bishop. She graduated from Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Community College. Alma first married Donald Shoemaker, and he preceded her in death in 1965. She then married Henry Beltram, and he preceded her in death in 1985. Alma taught elementary school students at both the Victory School and Christian Heights School. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Kansas-Missouri Jolly Circle.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Scharenberg, Mapleton, Kan., Muriel Woody, Carl Junction, Mo., and Becky Simpson, Garland, Kan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pastor Larry Stevicks conducted funeral services at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in the Clarksburg Cemetery, Garland, Kan.
