Anton "Tony" Gobl
Anton "Tony" Gobl, 75, Fort Scott, Kan., died at his home Saturday, March 20, 2004. Anton was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Arma, Kan., the son of Anton Gobl and Anna Hober Gobl. He married Joyce Wray on July 15, 1967, in Uniontown, Kan.
Anton was a retired mechanic for Fort Scott Farm Inc. and also ran his own farm and livestock operation. He was active and a past board member of the Pioneer Harvest Fiesta.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; one sister, Louise Hall, Redfield, Kan.; and two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Anton Gobl; and one daughter, Anna Gobl.
The Rev. Frank Goshert conducted private family funeral services Monday in the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials in his honor are suggested to an Anton Gobl Memorial Fund to be sent to family charities and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
