Charles "Lendel" Fulbright
Charles "Lendel" Fulbright, 77, Pittsburg, Kan., formerly of Bolivar, Mo., died March 27, 2004, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Miami, Okla. He was born on Feb. 5, 1927, the son of Charles Aaron and Bessie Jane Davison Fulbright. On Feb. 3, 1952, he married Sibyl Ruark in Miller, Mo.
He was employed as a truck driver at Van Tassel Trucking in Pittsburg, Kan., until his retirement. After retirement, he was employed as a security guard for Hofer Trucking Company in Pittsburg, Kan. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include four sons, Eddie Fulbright, Macomb, Mo., Dr. Tom Fulbright, Lawrence, Kan., Jim Fulbright, Parsons, Kan., and Randy Fulbright, Columbia, Mo.; two daughters, Linda Clark, Pittsburg, Kan., and Debbie Stacy, Nevada, Mo.; two sisters, Verna Carns, Bolivar, Mo., and Vera Ashlock, Halfway, Mo.; a half-sister, Jewell Morris, Lees Summit, Mo.; his former wife, Sibyl Dierolf; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; an aunt and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, the Rev. Donald Fulbright; one half-brother, Weldon Fulbright; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivar, Mo., with Brother Gary Fulbright officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, P.O.
