It is never easy for a Nevada High School sports team to play in Webb City -- and Tuesday was no exception with the Nevada Tigers boys' tennis team losing to the Cardinals 2-7.

Nevada's only two varsity wins came from Adam Gullett, who won 8-4 and the doubles team of Derek Fast and Ryan Kimbrough who won 8-5.

The team of Erik Delaney and Scott Hillier picked up the only junior varsity win.

Nevada's head tennis coach Leon Lowe said that even though Taylor Hall, Derek Fast and Ed Horst lost their matches, they turned in good performances.

Thursday afternoon the Tigers will play their final home match of the season against the Southwest Conference champion Neosho Wildcats. The Tigers lost to Neosho 4-5 last Friday.

Thursday's contest with Neosho will also mark the final home match for senior Alex Hardin.
