Track Reporter
Bikes, bikes and more bikes were at the race track tonight as the annual kids bicycle races were held at intermission.
This was a night for season first time winners with new winners in the Late Model, Street Stock and Mini-Stock divisions.
Roll over trophies were presented to Robert Somers, Jr the mini-stock driver who rolled his car last week and Shane Scism who rolled his 4-wheeler during intermission.
Winners of the four age divisions in the bike races received trophies. The top three in each age category received a bag of school supplies. After the races were run a drawing was held and Winston Slavens from Fort Scott, Kan., received a new bike.
Next week will be the Flagman's Special races featuring a $400 prize for the feature winner in the Street Stock division and a $600 prize for the feature winner in the Modified Division. Join us each and every week at the Biggest little racetrack in the country to catch all the action.

Another yellow flew as Portwood got sideways collecting Daniel Anders. Kerbs held the lead for the restart. Mike Boultinghouse tried to gain the lead first on the low side and then on the high side and was able to power around to take the lead. Boultinghouse then left the field behind as he claim the win, his first of the season.
Modified heat race winners were Jeff Brockman, Nevada and Brian Bolin, Fort Scott, Kan. Brockman got the lead at the start of the Feature. He and Craig Wood raced side by side with first one then the other gaining the advantage. Wood had just taken the lead when Justin Boots got sideways on the track bringing out the yellow flag and placing Brockman back in the lead for the restart. Wood was able to regain the lead and hold it through the balance of the race to claim his second win of the season.
Street Stock heat race winners were Billy Durossette, Fort Scott, Kan. and Denny Chrisenbery, Bronaugh. Olin Wyland got the lead at the start of the Feature and then spun out in front of the entire field causing cars to go everywhere and spin. Durossette was in the lead for the restart. Durossette maintained the lead through several more cautions. The most notable of those was when third place Chrisenbery got into second place Chris Rodabaugh sending him spinning and this brought out the yellow flag. Durossette was in the lead for the restart and never looked back as he claimed the win, his first of the season.
Factory Stock heat race winners were Jeff Chaplin, Fort Scott, Kan. and Vince Barker. Dustin Wyland got the lead at the start of the Feature. He lost power allowing Ron Harris to gain the lead. Jack Owens and Tiny Joles got together sending Joles spinning and bringing out the yellow flag. This closed the field behind Harris for the restart. On the restart Chaplin gained the lead. Keith Simmons worked his way through the field to claim the lead. Simmons held off the challengers to claim his sixth win of the season.
Mini-Stock heat race winners were Brandon Leer, Nevada and John Porter, Liberal. Tangie Beard got the lead at the start of the Feature. She received a bump from Lloyd Whisler sending her spinning and Brian Beard assumed the lead. Jerry Wilson and Porter also tangled and this brought out the yellow flag. Brian Beard was in the lead for the restart. Roy Miller also received a bump from Whisler, which sent him spinning and another yellow flag flew. Leer had taken the lead and this closed the field behind him for the restart. Another yellow flew as Leer lost a front wheel and this left James Baker in the lead. His car lost power and this left Joe Beard in the lead for the restart. Jeff Derr took the lead on the restart and received a strong challenge from Joe Beard through the balance of the race. Beard came across the line just a fender behind Derr who was then disqualified giving the win to Joe Beard, his first of the season.
