Twila Morrow, a busy mother of four Nevada students, has two of her children in the football program, Seth Baker, eighth grade, and Heath Baker, 11th grade. With two boys in the program Morrow has become very active as a Nevada Tiger Football Booster mom.

Morrow looked around to find a way to get all of the Nevada students involved in being football boosters, at all levels. What she came up with was to have them involved in decorating the lockers of football players the day of the game, something that had been done before, but without the participation of the other schools.

"I just thought it was a good idea," Morrow said. "This gets everyone involved so no one feels left out."

Morrow feels the effort helps improve the morale of the players.

"The decorations such as posters help to get the players pumped up before a game," Morrow said.

Before she came up with the idea of having the children participate coloring the posters she had printed out posters from her computer printer.

"Printing up that many posters took a lot of time and used up a lot of ink," Morrow said.

To get the children involved Morrow printed out black and white outlines for the children to color and took them to the Middle School where Mrs. McCully's art class colored them. Prizes were awarded to first, second, and third place students and the rest of the class that participated got a treat bag.

"After I gave out the prizes I brought out a box with the treats in it and told the kids I thought they were all winners," Morrow said.

Students at the Middle School, Truman, and Benton have participated and Morrow looks to have all the students participate by the end of the year.

Morrow gets assistance from other parents like Tana Uttinger, who has two football players in her family, sons Trent and Nathan. Morrow said she would like to see other parents get involved.

"I enjoy being a football mom, I wish that more parents would get involved with helping out our schools in some way," Morrow said. "It's a great feeling knowing that I am pulling our students together as one. It's a great accomplishment that I hope will continue each year."
