Body of man found in Barton County identified
Mrs. Tom Wardlow, who lives seven miles of Jasper, positively identified the dead man, found Tuesday morning on the Missouri Pacific right of way, south of Horton, Wednesday afternoon as Mortic Gates, a man who worked for Mr. Wardlow on the farm a good part of the summer, seven years ago, says the Lamar Democrat.
She was sure it was Gates as soon as she read the description of the dead wanderer in the paper. She drove to Lamar and viewed the body, as it lay in the Konantz mortuary. One good look at the corpse convinced her it was the body of Gates.
