Tedlock named chamber champion

On Friday, Miles Miller, president of the Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce, presented the January Chamber Champion award to Peggy Tedlock.
Tedlock is the Vernon County chapter manager of the American Red Cross and the executive secretary of the United Way and has been serving the area in her current role for 25 years.
Tedlock's duties as Red Cross chapter manager include relief efforts during times of disaster, such as the 1986 floods, the 1995 microburst and the recent Stockton tornados. She is also one of the first people called when fire victims are in need of assistance and has run countless blood drives over the years.
On top of her Red Cross duties, it is estimated that Tedlock has raised over $2 million dollars to benefit many Vernon County organizations: Little League Baseball, Nevada Softball league, Nevada Griffins, Nevada Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and many other worth-while groups.
"Of course, we all realize that Peggy could not do all of this without great support from the Red Cross and United Way boards, but we also realize how valuable Peggy is. That is why we salute her as our January Chamber Champion," said Miller.
