The Nevada Tigers have played competitive golf twice in the past four days, with mixed results.

Friday the Tigers were in Cassville for an invitational tournament against 14 other teams.

The Tigers collectively played one of their best rounds of the season, shooting a 387 to finish 10th.

Zach Braucher shot a 92 on the 18-hole course, leading the Tigers into the clubhouse.

Justin Crooks was second on the team with a 94 and David Cavener was third shooting a 97.

Trey Gayman and Brandon Scism both struggled on the Cassville course, shooting 104 and 111, respectively.

"I was very pleased with Cassville," Nevada coach Brian Leonard said. "A 387's not bad."

Leonard said in some ways Cassville's course was the most difficult they played.

"The fairways were probably the tightest we played all year," he said. "The greens were inconsistent at first, and once they dried out, they got quick."

Against Carthage Monday Nevada struggled.

Nevada shot 207 on the Carthage Municipal Golf Course, losing by 54 shots to the hosts.

Braucher again was first with a 46 on the nine-hole course. Crooks was second with 49 and Cavener shot 53. Gayman (64) and Scism (59) continued to struggle.

Nevada is competing again Monday at Lamar.
