Distressing death at Butler

Edward Miller, a prominent citizen of Butler was here today visiting his friend W.T. Ballagh and the Mail reporter had the pleasure of meeting him. In talking to the Mail's reporter, Miller told of a distressing accident that happened at Butler Thursday evening and which resulted in the death of a little baby daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Zey who reside at Butler.

The child was at home with the hired girl, the mother being away from home attending a reception. The baby wanted a drink while the girl was upstairs and the baby picked up a bottle which contained gasoline and she drank the gasoline thinking it was water. The hired girl came down stairs just as the little girl took the bottle from her lips. The baby became unconscious almost instantly, and although the father who is a physician, did everything known to the skilled physician and all that a loving father could do but his efforts were fruitless and at 10 o'clock the baby went to sleep never to awaken again.
