Two injured in three-vehicle traffic crash on Wednesday

Two people were injured in a wreck that occurred at Walker Corner -- the intersection of U.S. 54 and State Route C -- at about 4 p.m., Wednesday, when a 2000 Buick driven by Barbara Nikodim, 89, Nevada, pulled in front of a west bound 1992 Mitsubishi driven by Larry Hine, 26, Neosho Falls, Kan. Hine swerved to avoid a collision with Nikodim and struck an eastbound 1998 Freightliner tractor trailer driven by Ronald Newcomb, 44, Rich Hill. Nikodim and Hine were transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center with what were described as moderate injuries.
