Hume celebrates 125th anniversary
A crowd of hundreds turned out for Friday's events at the Hume Fair, highlighted by several games, activities and a birthday party marking Hume's 125th anniversary. Attendees shared a special cake, looked back on memories and events of Hume's history and took part in a special ceremony. State Representative Barney Fisher, R-125th District, left, presented Hume Mayor Tim Jones with a United States flag, a Missouri flag, and a Missouri House of Representatives proclamation honoring Hume's achievements over the years. The ceremony took place on the bandstand, in the Hume city park, at about 5 p.m. Friday. The Hume Fair continued Saturday, with several events scheduled, including a balloon release in honor of the special anniversary.
