Barbara Dean Harper

Barbara Dean Harper, age 76, of Nevada, Mo., was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Troy, Kan., and passed from this life on Saturday, April 8, 2006, at her home in Nevada, Mo. She was the daughter of Paul Warren and Eula Peal (Hanks) Wilson.

On Jan. 19, 1951, Barbara was united in marriage to William James Harper and to their union four children were born. They just recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. She was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband William J. Harper of the home in Nevada; one daughter, Sue Harper of Schell City, Mo.; three sons, Mike Harper and his wife Jan of Independence, Mo., Pat Harper of Nevada, and Tim Harper and his wife Rhonda of Canton, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Alexander and her husband Jim, Shawna George and her husband Kevin, Shannon Ethington and her fiance Preston Flint; W.J. Harper, Tiffany Harper, R.J. Harper, Matt Harper, Flori Harper, Brandon Harper, and Joseph Harper; and six great-grandchildren; one half sister, Diane Wilson; and two half brothers, Dennis Wilson and Gary Wilson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Bonnie J. Stucker; and her aunt Marge Wilson who helped raise her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services for Barbara Dean Harper were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, at the Green Mound Cemetery in Harwood with Josh Adsit officiating. Pallbearers were her sons and grandson, Mike, Pat, Tim, W.J., Joseph, and Matt Harper. Memorials are suggested to Nevada Regional Medical Center Hospice in care of the Lewis-Hoagland funeral home in Schell City, Mo., who were entrusted with the arrangements.
