Helen Marceline Hill Dowdy

Helen Marceline Hill Dowdy, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2006, Grove, Mo., with her family at her side. She was born Aug. 27, 1929, in Sioux Falls, N.D., to the late John and Betty Jobson.

Betty graduated from the Sacred Heart School in 1944, before moving to Tiffin, Mo., area. She married Virgil Hill in 1950, and clerked at Virgil's auctions for many years. Later in life Helen married Leon Dowdy, who preceded her in death. Helen was a member of the First Christian Church of Nevada, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Survivors include her children, Linda McReynolds, Tampa, Fla., Craig Hill, Bella Vista, Ark., Mariella Hill, Kansas City, Mo., Sherry Hill, Fayetteville, Ark., and Julia Morrison, Oakview, Mo.; grandchildren are, Todd Hill, Meghan Hill, Sunny Chei, Colby and Ashton Feller, Nathan and Jessica Mason; and great-grandchildren are, Rowen and McKenna Mason, Avantay Feller, and Jayden and Mia Chei.

Services for Helen Hill will be held on Thursday, April 20, at 2 p.m., at the Hackleman Chapel in El Dorado Springs, Mo., with visitation preceding the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of the Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home.
