Nevada swimmers top Colgan, Marshfield in meet

CARTHAGE, Mo. -- The Nevada Tigers took on four opponents during a swim meet in Carthage Tuesday, beating two of them.

Nevada topped St. Mary's-Colgan (Kan.) and Marshfield, while falling to Carthage and Glendale.

The Tigers won 90-52 over Marshfield, and 95-10 over Colgan.

Glendale beat Nevada 118-45, and Carthage won 116-45.

Sophomore Kristen Badgley continued to impress as she won the 100-yard backstroke, and the 100 butterfly.

Badgley also helped the 400 freestyle relay team to a second-place finish. Hannah Ketterman, Emily Ricketts and Lindsey Webb also swam legs on the team.

The team of Badgley, Ketterman, Webb and Claire Hissink took fourth in the 200 medley relay.

The team of Hissink, Ketterman, Webb and Ricketts also was fourth in the 200 freestyle relay.

Webb was fifth in the 100 freestyle, and Hissink took sixth in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.

The relay team of Ricketts, Abby Ruddick, Erin Quest and Bethany Brower was sixth in the 200 medley relay.

May Ling Butterfield placed seventh in the 200 freestyle.

Ketterman was seventh in the 100 freestyle.

Quest was eighth in the 100 breaststroke, while Bethany Brower was ninth.

Ruddick was eighth in the 100 backstroke, and Elizabeth Burlingame was ninth.

Burlingame was also ninth in the 200 freestyle.

Ruddick was ninth in the 50 freestyle.

Ricketts was 10th in the 50 freestyle, and Jessica Davis was 10th in the 100 freestyle.

The relay team of Butterfield, Brower, Quest and Davis placed eighth in the 200 freestyle relay.

Nevada's next scheduled meet is the Springfield Invitational Saturday.
