James Austin Gooden

James Austin Gooden, age 77, of Montevallo, Mo., passed away on Sept. 5, 2006, at his home.

He is survived by five sons, Louis Pennington of Compton Junction, Mo., Sam Gooden of Walker, Mo., Homer Gooden of Milo, Mo., Larry Gooden of El Dorado Springs and Paul Gooden, Lamar, Mo.; six daughters, Linda Dedrick of Bolivar, Mo., Rose Chastain of Nevada, Rebecca Long of Milo, Ruth Woods of Nevada, Laura Cook of Milo, and Pam Meister of Nevada; four sisters; three brothers; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m., at the Hackleman Chapel. Interment was in the Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of the Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7-8 p.m.
