'The girl in red' was injured

On account of the inclement weather the attendance at the W.F. Carver show at the fair grounds was not largely attended Friday afternoon, but those who did attend were more than fully repaid for their time and money.

The thrilling feat of the "girl in red" in riding the diving horse in its 40 foot leap was on e of the most daring and spectacular performance ever seen in Nevada.

This feat is always accompanied by great danger and this was demonstrated yesterday for the young lady was painfully injured, being struck by the horse as it landed in the pool of water. An ugly gash under the chin resulted and the services of a physician were necessary to dress the painful injury.
