Pie auction

A weekly pie auction, conducted on the steps of the Vernon County Courthouse, benefits the Children's Center. The event kicked off yesterday, with the pie selling in short order.

One pie will be auctioned each Tuesday, Oct. 24 and 31, and Nov. 7, at 1 p.m.

The winner of the pie will bring the pie to be auctioned the following week. Cookies, brownies or similar items may be substituted.
