Raiders eliminate Jayhawks from postseason contention

MOUND CITY, Kan. -- Jayhawk-Linn was eliminated from postseason consideration following a 37-6 loss to Frontenac at Donald Hoppes Field Friday night in Kansas Class 3A, District 6 play.
The Jayhawks' only score came in the second quarter, when Derrick Endecott hit Josh Beckman on a 25-yard pass play. That brought the Jayhawks (0-2 in district, 1-7 overall) within 14-6 at the break. However, Frontenac (2-0, 4-4) scored 23 unanswered points in the second half.
The Raiders gained 280 yards rushing and 337 in total. Jayhawk-Linn was held to 52 yards rushing and 81 total. Clint Johnson was held to 54 yards on 12 carries.
The Jayhawks will close out the regular season Thursday night at Arma, taking on winless Northeast High School.
