PLEASANTON, Kan. -- Pittsburg Colgan scored 41 points in the first half on its way to a 44-6 rout of Pleasanton Friday night in Class 2-1A, District 5 play.
The Blu-Jays (0-2 in district, 2-6 overall) were eliminated from post-season play with the loss. They will end the regular season Thursday night at Humboldt.
Colgan returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and never looked back. The Panthers (2-0, 8-0) led 21-0 after one quarter.
Josh Scritchfield gained 72 yards rushing on 20 carries for Pleasanton and also scored its only touchdown on a five-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Kolbee McKee led the Pleasanton defense with eight tackles.
