Martha Alice Belle Yoder Catron
Martha Alice Belle Yoder Catron, 94, Nevada, passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 9, 1912, in Cass County, Mo., to David Augustine Yoder and Ethel Alice Mullen Yoder. She was married to William McKinley "Mac" Catron on Oct. 8, 1931, in Adrian, Mo.
Martha grew up on the family farm in Garden City, Mo., and graduated from Archie High School in 1931. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and served in many capacities during her active years. Martha had a great love for the Lord and for her family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother extraordinaire.
Survivors include two sons, David and his wife Gail, Haslett, Mich., Lyle and his wife Linda, Nevada; six grandchildren, Angie Catron, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Bethany Taylor and her husband Matt, Lansing, Mich.; Michelle Berndt, Lansing; Christen Berndt, Lansing; Shane Catron, Woodbury, Minn.; Andrea Stiles and her husband Trent, Fort Scott, Kan.; and one great-grandson, Camden Stiles, Fort Scott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Edwin Yoder, Garden City, Mo.
A worship service and a celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 6:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends that evening beginning at 6 p.m.
