Santa's sleigh makes an early stop in Nevada

A.J. and Austin Greer team up to inflate a basketball destined to be a part of a huge toy and Christmas basket giveaway from Community Outreach, the Vernon County Ambulance District and the Teen Angel program on Friday, Dec. 15, at the National Guard Armory in Nevada.

Community Outreach volunteers, Nevada High School students Kayla Marti and Kathy Ornelas, arranged canned goods donated by the community for an annual Christmas food giveaway conducted by the group at the National Guard Armory in Nevada. The Community Outreach food pantry serves area residents all year long, and conducts a Christmas event like this one each year.
Santa's sleigh, cleverly disguised as SUV's trucks and more, brought the bounty of this year's toy drive, conducted by the Vernon County Ambulance District, to the National Guard Armory on Friday. The drive netted enough bags of gifts to serve more than 400 area children facing financial hardship. Across the room, gift bags from the Teen Angel program awaited about 100 area teenagers.
